تموت زوجة كمال وتترك له ابنه عمر، يتعرف كمال على سلوى ويجمع الحب بينهما ويأخذ فى تمهيد زواجه منها لابنه. تطلب سلوى من كمال الدفاع عن جارها العامل البسيط إسماعيل المتهم بالقتل. يتحمس كمال وشريكه فى المكتب أحمد للقضية. يتوصل كمال أن القتيل اكتشف عمليات اختلاس فى المصنع. يقوم بعض الأشخاص باختطاف عمر ويهددون كمال بقتله إذا لم يتخل عن القضية. يذهب كمال ومعه سلوى إلى المهندس مدحت الذى دفعته ظروفه الصعبة للاشتراك مع المحترفين ويشعر بتأنيب الضمير، يسلمهما المستندات التى تدين المنحرفين ويعترف أن القاتل الحقيقى هو زكريا مسؤول أمن المصنع، يلقى أحمد مصرعه على أيدى المجرمين. يذهب مدحت بكمال إلى المخبأ الذى يخفى فيه ابنه ليحاول إنقاذه ويشتبك الطرفان ويلقى مدحت مصرعه. تقوم سلوى بتسليم الشرطة المستندات الخاصة بمدحت وتبلغهم عن الجانى الحقيقى كى يقبضوا عليه، تصل الشرطة إلى المخبأ ويقبضون على الجميع ويتم إنقاذ عمر.
